If you need to change your name, you will need to complete the necessary procedures.
You can apply for a new card through the "Card Reissue" option in the "Application" menu on Rakuten e-NAVI. The procedure may vary depending on the details of your application, so please refer to the instructions below for more information.
If you are Rakuten Bank Cards holders, you will need to complete the procedures on the Rakuten Bank website. Please change the account holder's name on the Rakuten Bank website, and then proceed with the card suspension and reissue process.

In the Case of a Name Change Due to Surname Change
Example : Rakuten Hanako → Suzuki Hanako
In case your surname changes (marriage or some specific occasions), you can complete the procedure on
Rakuten e-NAVI. Please select "Card Reissue" from "Application" menu on Rakuten e-NAVI, then choose "Change of name due to change of surname (change of surname only)" and proceed with the application.

After completing the application, your new card will be delivered in approximately one week to ten days.
In the Case of a First name / First and Surname (Full Name) Change For Corrections to Names in Kanji or Roman Letters
Examples : Rakuten Hanako → Rakuten Masako / Rakuten Hanako → Suzuki Masako
Examples : Taro → Tarou / TAROU → TAROH
For changes to your full name due to a name change or surname change, or for corrections to names in Kanji or Roman letters, you will need to submit a Name Change Application Form along with the original or a copy of your identification documents.
The Name Change Application Form will be requested through the "Card Reissue" option in the "Application" menu on Rakuten e-NAVI.

The Name Change Application Form will be delivered approximately one week to ten days after your request. Once you receive the Name Change Application Form, please fill out the required information, enclose the original or a copy of your identification documents (with your new name), and return it using the provided return envelope.

The new card will be sent approximately two weeks after we receive your retuned application form.
If you have multiple cards registered to different accounts, you will need to complete the procedure for each card separately.
For Those Applying for a Name Change
If you have an account under your new name, please set up your payment account as soon as you receive your new card. You can do this by selecting " Inquiry and modification of customer information" and then "Inquiry and change of payment account" form the "Customer Information" menu on Rakuten e-NAVI.

Even if there is no change to the branch name or account number of your registered financial institution and only the account holder's name has changed, we still require you to submit an application. Additionally, you can register a new financial institution account that is different from your current one.
If the account holder name registered with us differs from the account holder name registered with your financial institution due to a name change, whether the direct debit will be processed is at the discretion of the financial institution. If the payment cannot be debited from your account on the payment date, we will send you a payment slip for you to make the payment at a latter date.
Once you receive your new card, please cut up and dispose of the magnetic stripe (or the IC chip for IC cards) with scissors.

Regarding Name in Kanji
For Members whose name in Kanji includes old or uncommon characters that our system cannot process, please note that we may not be able to register your name exactly as submitted.
In such cases, we will register your name using the modern standard characters.
Regarding Card Delivery Address
If you apply for a name change through Rakuten e-NAVI, the card will be delivered to the home address registered in Rakuten e-NAVI.
If you apply using the Name Change Application Form, the card will be delivered to the home address you provided on the form (your current residence).
※For Rakuten Business Cards, the card will be delivered to your workplace.

Regarding Rakuten Points
You can continue to use your accumulated Rakuten Points even after changing your name.
Rakuten Points are linked to your Rakuten ID, not your card. Therefore, you can still use your points even if your card number or name changes.
